Mötley Crüe and Guns N’ Roses Drummers Power World Tours with Low Boy Beaters

Legendary Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee is playing a pair of Standard all-wood beaters laser-engraved with the kanji characters “bon” and “sai,” paying tribute to his love for bonsai trees. He started using the beaters, which are painted a vibrant shade of red with black stripes, on the band’s 2022 stadium tour after hearing about them from his longtime drum tech Steve Morrison. This year’s ambitious jaunt kicked off in Mexico City on February 18th and traverses Latin America, Europe and the United States over a 7-month span.
Longtime Guns N’ Roses drummer and Low Boy artist Frank Ferrer plays a pair of Lightweight Leather Daddy bass drum beaters painted black with red stars and stripes to match his custom-designed DW kit. Ferrer is the band’s longest-tenured drummer, holding down the drum chair since 2006 and will be accompanied on this latest tour by his tech Imy James. When he’s not on the road with GNR, Ferrer plays with New York rock outfits The Compulsions and Pisser. Guns N’ Roses’ world tour kicks off in Tel Aviv on June 5th and will take them throughout the Middle East, Europe and North America this summer and fall.
