Kate Caughey is a natural talent living and working in the San Diego area. After graduating from UCSB with a BA in Art Studio she was hired by Trader Joe’s and has worked there as a sign artist for over a decade. While there she has led the creative direction for recent store openings and has directed artists in the design and execution of many store murals. Her work can be found in Trader Joe’s stores throughout Santa Barbara, San Diego, Denver, and Colorado Springs.
Along with her dedication to Trader Joe’s is a dedication to exploring her own creativity and craft through freelance work. This ranges from graphic design to set design, murals, kid’s rooms, shop menus and signs to portraits, paintings and illustrations, to wood work and made objects…the list goes on! Kate enjoys collaborative work both artistic and musical and is a capable violinist. She enjoys reflecting the love and friendships she finds in her life and is excited to soon show paintings that show all sides of her humanity. Currently, Kate is most inspired by and dedicated to her young son, while remaining as active as possible in the artist community.
